On February 9th 2022, Colin Welch embarked on a solo paddle – the length of the Murray river in the name of charity. Approaching 70 when he decided to celebrate by setting himself a physical and mental challenge, kayaking 2,350 km of the Murray River. Why? he’s not sure, it seemed like an interesting challenge and with no real kayaking experience (except an occasional paddle on the Murray river as an 11-year-old). Colin is self-funding the trip, doing it solo (no support crew), camping on the river banks with an occasional stay in caravan parks. More…….
